Industrial refinery at dusk with steel pipes and flanged connections

Industries We Serve

Explore 19 industry guides across six categories. Each page outlines common sealing duties and the information needed before a part can be offered. A standard may govern a flange, pressure system, enclosure, building element, organisation or finished article; it does not automatically certify a loose gasket or material family.

Resources

Extraction and primary-production sites combine abrasive media, vibration, weather exposure and remote maintenance. Send the medium and solids, normal and upset pressure-temperature cycle, joint or flange standard, drawing and required evidence. We will confirm what can be offered for the specified duty.

Key Sealing Challenges

  • Slurry service: solids, particle size, velocity, chemistry, flange standard and pressure-temperature cycle
  • H2S service: exact environment, metallic material condition and exact elastomer compound evidence; ISO 15156 applies to its defined metallic-material scope
  • Marine duty: complete galvanic, crevice, coating and cathodic-protection design - not a PREN threshold alone

Energy & Water

Power, renewable, hydrogen and water systems have different pressure boundaries, fluids and regulatory owners. Identify the equipment or piping boundary, normal and upset duty, exact joint and project or OEM requirements. Material and evidence can then be reviewed for that application.

Key Sealing Challenges

  • Drinking water: disinfectant and chemistry, exact compound evidence, and AS/NZS 4020 or WaterMark scope where applicable
  • Hydrogen: exact material, product form, pressure-temperature cycle, permeation, decompression and governing code
  • Power plant: define the AS 1210 vessel, ASME B31.1 piping or other project boundary before selecting the joint product

Process & Manufacturing

Continuous process plants need compatible materials and dependable joint assembly, but a chemical or polymer family is not a specification. Provide full media composition, phase and contaminants, normal and upset pressure-temperature conditions, cycling, cleaning, flange or joint details and required documents.

Key Sealing Challenges

  • Chemical processing: full composition and duty, with the B31.3 fluid-service category set by the owner or design authority
  • MRO: exact flange standard, table or class, size, facing and measured dimensions; stock and documents confirmed at quote
  • Pulp and paper: separate bulk process temperature from measured joint conditions and use the mill/OEM-controlled specification

Regulated & Compliance

Food, pharmaceutical and medical requirements attach to a defined article, component, device, system, site or quality process. Provide the destination market and use, exact contact conditions, compound and product form, cleaning or sterilisation cycle, traceability need and required declarations or tests.

Key Sealing Challenges

  • Food contact: exact article, conditions of use and supplier evidence under the applicable Australian, US, EU or customer requirement
  • Pharmaceutical/medical: exact test article, process or finished-device evidence; keep BPE metallic surface finish separate from elastomer documentation
  • Documentation: agree lot/material records for the exact product and order; use EN 10204 only where its inspection document applies

Defence & Critical Infrastructure

Defence, data-centre and telecommunications requirements may govern an organisation, exact qualified product, equipment, enclosure, building system or contract. Provide the controlled drawing and revision, exact specification, qualification clauses, assembled-system target and required records. Component evidence does not replace complete-system conformity.

Key Sealing Challenges

  • Data centres: exact coolant, refrigerant or clean agent, exposure conditions and exact-compound evidence
  • Defence: contract/drawing revision, product form, qualified-source requirement, security or controlled-data gate and documentation pack
  • Telecommunications: validate IP/IK on the enclosure and EMC on the equipment; confirm the gasket profile and evidence separately

Built Environment & Transport

Building, HVAC, water and transport work combines system compliance with component selection. Provide the project or OEM drawing, joint and movement, medium or refrigerant plus lubricant, pressure-temperature duty, target life and required system evidence. A gasket can support the design but does not inherit its approval or rating.

Key Sealing Challenges

  • Construction: exact wall, joint or penetration configuration and the applicable complete-system test or assessment
  • HVAC/refrigeration: exact refrigerant, lubricant, pressure-temperature/decompression cycle and OEM joint specification
  • Transport: vehicle/OEM requirements, exact fluid and joint; ADR and enclosure IP results remain vehicle/system outcomes

Need help routing an enquiry?
