Precision Shim Stock & Packs
Precision shim stock for machinery alignment, tolerance adjustment, and assembly shimming. Stainless steel, mild steel, brass, copper, aluminium, plastic (polyester), and laminated peelable composites in sheets, rolls, or pre-cut packs. The peelable shims are worth knowing about if you're doing pump and motor alignments regularly.
Types & Variants
Stainless Steel Shim Stock
Precision-rolled 304 and 316 stainless shim from 0.025 mm to 3 mm, in sheets and rolls. Blue-tempered spring steel is also stocked where a harder, magnetic shim steel suits the job.
Brass Shim Stock
Precision-rolled brass shim for corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic spacing, in the same 0.025 mm to 3 mm gauge range as our steel stock.
Copper Shim Stock
Thin-gauge copper shim from 0.076 mm to 0.25 mm, for precision shims in assemblies that need high thermal or electrical conductivity at the shim interface.
Plastic Shim Stock
Polyester (Mylar) and polycarbonate shim material for electrical isolation and non-metallic shimming where a metal shim would short or corrode.
Peelable (Laminated) Shims
Layered composite shims where individual laminations peel away to reach a precise thickness increment. Handy for repeatable pump and motor alignments.
Pre-Cut Shim Packs
Assorted packs of pre-cut shims in standard machine-base and bearing-housing sizes, spanning common thickness steps so a maintenance store keeps the right gauge on the shelf without cutting each one to size.
