Spray Shields

Flange Safety Spray Guards

Spray shields wrap around flanged connections and contain whatever comes out if a gasket lets go: acids, steam, hydrocarbons. In most chemical plants we see these on any Class 150 and above flange running acid or caustic, and they're not optional. They're a personnel safety measure first, but they also protect cable trays and adjacent equipment. PTFE-coated fabric is the default; stainless steel for high-pressure or high-temperature duties.

Types & Variants

PTFE Fabric Shields

Flexible PTFE-coated fibreglass shields with Velcro or buckle closure. Chemical-resistant and reusable across most flange sizes.

Stainless Steel Shields

Rigid stainless steel shields for high-pressure or high-temperature applications where fabric may not withstand the conditions.

Transparent Shields

Clear polycarbonate or polypropylene shields that allow visual inspection of the flange while fitted.

Common Applications

Chemical Plants

Acid, caustic, and solvent lines where spray contact with personnel would cause chemical burns.

Steam Systems

High-pressure steam flanges where a gasket failure would release superheated steam.

Oil & Gas Piping

Hydrocarbon lines in process areas where spray containment reduces fire and safety risk.
