Adhesive Transfer, Double-Sided, and Speciality Tapes
Industrial Tapes
We stock a range of industrial adhesive tapes for bonding, sealing, and assembly applications where mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives are impractical. Each tape type uses a different adhesive chemistry and carrier construction to suit specific bond-strength, temperature, and substrate requirements. From thin acrylic transfer tapes for nameplate bonding through to VHB structural tapes that replace rivets and welding, our range covers the common industrial tape applications we see across our customer base.

Chemical Resistance
Resistant To
- Water and moisture (all types, acrylic adhesive base)
- UV radiation (acrylic adhesive types offer excellent long-term outdoor durability)
- Mild acids and alkalis (splash contact)
- Most common cleaning solvents after full cure
Limited Resistance
- Petroleum oils and greases (bond weakens with prolonged exposure)
- Plasticised PVC substrates (plasticiser migration can degrade acrylic adhesive bond)
Not Recommended
- Strong solvents (acetone, MEK, toluene) attack general-purpose acrylic adhesives — high-performance acrylic (e.g. 3M 200MP/467MP) retains adhesion after MEK exposure; verify adhesive grade before specifying for solvent service
- Concentrated acids and alkalis, which attack adhesive and carrier
- Silicone-contaminated surfaces (adhesive will not bond)
- Low-surface-energy plastics (PE, PP) without surface treatment or primer
Standards & Certifications
Standards Compliance
Common Applications
- Nameplate and label bonding
- Display and touchscreen bezel attachment
- Panel and trim bonding (replacing rivets and screws)
- Gasket attachment to enclosure lids
- EMI/RFI shielding tape for electronic enclosures
- HVAC duct sealing and joining
- Automotive exterior trim attachment
- Signage and point-of-sale display mounting
- Thermal interface bonding (heatsink attachment)
- Wire harnessing and cable management
Not Recommended For
- Surface preparation is critical. Contaminated, dusty, or low-energy surfaces prevent reliable bonding
- Full bond strength typically develops over 24–72 hours, so do not apply load immediately after assembly
- Not a substitute for mechanical fasteners in safety-critical structural joints
- VHB foam tapes require flat, smooth surfaces; gap-filling capability is limited to the tape thickness
- Removal can be difficult after long service, and adhesive residue may require solvent cleaning
- Temperature ratings refer to service temperature after bonding. Application temperature should be above 10 °C for most acrylic adhesives
- Conductive foil tapes are not structural bonds; they provide electrical continuity and EMI shielding

Acrylic Transfer Tape
Pure acrylic adhesive film with no carrier, supplied on a release liner. The thinnest bond line available (0.05–0.13 mm). Used for nameplate bonding, membrane switch assembly, and laminating thin substrates where zero-thickness adhesive is required. Excellent UV and temperature resistance.
Double-Sided Foam Tape (VHB)
Closed-cell acrylic foam core with acrylic adhesive on both faces. Structural-grade bond strength capable of replacing rivets, screws, and spot welds on smooth substrates. Gap-filling capability up to 3.0 mm. Outstanding outdoor durability and dynamic load resistance. The tape of choice for panel bonding and architectural cladding attachment.
Double-Sided Liner Tape
Thin tissue or PET film carrier coated with acrylic adhesive on both sides. Provides a moderate-strength bond for general-purpose assembly: splicing, mounting, and attaching foam or rubber gaskets to enclosure flanges. Available in a range of thicknesses from 0.08 mm to 0.25 mm.
Speciality / High-Temperature Transfer Tape
Modified acrylic or silicone-based adhesive transfer tape rated for continuous service above 150 °C, up to 260 °C for silicone adhesive grades. Used for bonding thermal insulation, attaching components near heat sources, and masking during powder coating or wave soldering.
Conductive Foil Tape
Aluminium or copper foil with conductive acrylic adhesive providing electrical continuity through the bond line. Used for EMI/RFI shielding, grounding straps, and sealing joints in electronic enclosures. The foil acts as both a conductor and a moisture barrier. Not a structural bond — mechanical retention should be provided separately.
